SPARKS, Md. – Head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein and her staff have selected the 22 players that will represent the United States in the Pan-American Lacrosse Association (PALA) Women's Championship later this month in Auburndale, Fla., with
Anna Brandt of the University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team making the cut.
This marks the first time any of the U.S. national teams will participate in a PALA continental qualifier. The eight-team championship features Argentina, Canada, Haudenosaunee, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, and the United States at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex from June 26-30. The top four finishers will earn spots in the Division I bracket of the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Japan, with the next three finishers qualifying for the Division II bracket.
The U.S. has won the last four World Lacrosse Women's Championships, bringing home the title in 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2022.
Brandt is the sole representative for Penn and the Ivy League on the roster. The IWLCA and Ivy League midfielder of the Year had a stellar senior season, leading the Quakers in free position goals (11), caused turnovers (28), ground balls (60), goals (68), and points (71) to earn consensus First Team All-America honors.
The senior slashed three program records and tied one this season, breaking the all-time goals record with her 149th goal against Temple in February, the all-time draw control record with her 174th against Loyola Maryland, and the single-season goal record with her 64th goal of the year this week in the NCAA quarterfinals against #3 Northwestern. Brandt tied the single-game goal record with nine over Cornell. The White Hall, Md., native had a strong stat line in the NCAA women's lacrosse tournament, tallying six goals in the first two rounds to become the first Quaker in program history to score 200 goals.
