PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team won its second meeting in a row, scoring a 194.975 at the Temple Tri-Meet over the host Owls and Fisk University.
Skyelar Kerico notched 9.950 on the uneven bars, which is the second-high event score in program history.
Southern Connecticut State was slated to compete as well but canceled their trip due to substantial snowfall.
BARS – Penn 49.075
The first rotation of the night was the best for the Quakers, cracking the 49 mark. Kerico's aforementioned 9.950 was a personal best for the junior.
Sophia Paris had a season high 9.825 – a total
Zara Gazdak matched.
Jordan Barrow scored a 9.775.
Marissa Lassiter and
Carly Oniki each finished with a score of 9.700.
BEAM – Penn 48.675
Penn followed up their first rotation with another strong performance on the balance beam. At the anchor,
Samantha Wu led Penn with a 9.875.
Mimi Fletcher finished with a score of 9.850. Barrow tied a career-high at 9.800.
Alisha Werlen scored a 9.775.
FLOOR – Penn 48.550
After not competing at Cornell last week,
Emma Davies led off for Penn this week, scoring a 9.650. Werlen followed her up at 9.625.
Manama Fofana had a solid showing (9.725).
Marissa Lassiter – "The Dancing Queen" – finished with a 9.775. She snapped a three-meet streaking scoring 9.825 but she still led the Quakers. Kerico (9.750) and Gazdak (9.650) rounded out the group.
VAULT – Penn 48.675
Fofana and Kerico tied for the best on Penn at 9.800. Tonight is the third meet in a row dating back to the Lindsey Ferris Invite where Fofana has eclipsed the 9.8 mark on vault. Barrow anchored with a score of 9.750.
Olivia VanHorn notched a 9.700 and
Sienna Zuccaro finished with a score of 9.625.

Skyelar Kerico's 9.950 was the second-highest bars score in program history, earning her second-place honors at the meet. She becomes the first gymnast to reach the mark since Anna Wilson did it at the 2001 ECAC Championships.
*For the second week in a row, Penn set a season-high team score on the bars (49.075); It is tied for the fourth-best event score in program history (2023 UNH Quad, 2004 Ivy Classic).
*In addition to Kerico's second-place finish on bars,
Zara Gazdak and
Sophia Paris finished third (9.825).

Manama Fofana and Kerico had a second-place finish on vault (9.800).

Marissa Lassiter placed third on the floor exercise (9.775).
*Morgan Price (Fisk) scored a perfect 10 on the uneven bars, becoming the first HBCU gymnast to record a 10 on any event. She is just one of four gymnasts (Olympian Jordan Chiles at UCLA, Helen Hu at Missouri and Mya Lauzon at California) to achieve perfection this season.
