PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's squash team will begin the 2025 season this weekend, looking to defend its Potter Cup national championship.
Penn was ranked #1 in the College Squash Association preseason rankings.
The Quakers will take on Haverford on Friday at 5 pm, Franklin and Marshall on Saturday at 11 am, and a doubleheader with Chatham and Dickinson at 9 am and 2:30 pm on Sunday.

Previewing Penn:
The Red and Blue head into the 2025 season with high expectations after the most successful season in program history last year.
Last year, Penn finished the season with a 20-0 unblemished record en route to a 6-3 victory over Yale in the Potter Cup final.
This was the first time in program history where the team finished the season without a single loss in the regular season and postseason.
The Quakers have a chance to win their third consecutive Potter Cup national championship this season, under tenth-year head coach
Gilly Lane.

Penn returns three players who were named First Team All-Ivy last season.

Salman Khalil returns after being named Ivy League Player of the Year last year.

Marwan Abdelsalam was selected as the 2024 Ivy League Rookie of the Year.

Omar Hafez was named First Team All-Ivy last year, finishing the season sixth on the program's all-time wins list with 51.
