Gymnastics Scores Season-Best 194.950 at Lindsey Ferris Invite

WASHINGTON – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team posted a season-high 194.950 at the Lindsey Ferris Invite in the Nation's Capital.
 
Penn beat out Yale (193.850) and Fisk (191.225) but fell to tournament host George Washington (195.350).
 
BEAM – Penn 48.425
The Quakers started the afternoon on the beam. Skyelar Kerico and Carly Oniki paced the team at 9.775. Samantha Wu trailed right behind them with a score of 9.725. Waldorf, Md. native Marissa Lassiter scored a 9.600. Jordan Barrow rounded out the group at 9.550.
 
FLOOR – Penn 49.000
Penn shined once again on the floor, scoring a 49.000. Emma Davies set the tone with a 9.600 and Alisha Werlen followed it at 9.750. The Quakers rattled off four 9.8's or better to end the rotation. Manama Fofana and Lassiter scored a 9.825; Zara Gazdak and Kerico had a 9.800.
 
VAULT – Penn 48.900
Lassiter started the rotation with a career-best score of 9.850. Fofana (9.825) and Barrow (9.800) each racked up 9.8's or better. In her first vault performance since 2023, Olivia VanHorn scored a 9.725. Freshman Sienna Zuccaro finished with a 9.700.
 
BARS – Penn 48.625
Kerico had her best score of the afternoon (9.825) on the uneven bars and led Penn. Lassiter wrapped up her return to the DMV with a 9.750; Barrow tied that mark. Oniki finished at 9.675. Gazdak and Isabel Song scored a 9.625 and 9.550 respectively.
 
Rotation Notes
*Penn had the best team score on the vault (48.900) and uneven bars (48.625).
*Today was the first meet this season where Penn did not have an individual event winner. It breaks a five-meet streak dating back to last season.
*Marissa Lassiter (39.025) on the all-around earned a podium finish.
*Lassiter's career day on the vault (9.850) was good enough for third place overall. Manama Fofana tied for fourth place at 9.825.
*Three Quakers placed inside the top five on the uneven bars. Skyelar Kerico (9.825) finished second with Jordan Barrow and Lassiter (9.750) tying for fourth.
*Carly Oniki and Kerico tied for fourth place on the balance beam with a score of 9.775.
 
Up Next
Penn will travel up to Ithica, N.Y. on Sunday to take on GEC rival Cornell in the first dual meet of the season.
