PHILADELPHIA – On a night where the University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team honored six seniors (
Emma Davies,
Isabella Garrett,
Marigold Garrett,
Zara Gazdak,
Isabel Song, and
Olivia VanHorn) for all their hard work and dedication, the Quakers secured a second-place finish at their home opener with a score of 193.250.
Penn (193.250) defeated GEC foe Yale (191.500) and Ursinus (188.425) but fell short to Towson (195.600) in their second meeting in two weeks.
VAULT – Penn 48.525
The Red and Blue started the night with a strong performance on the vault led by
Jordan Barrow who scored a 9.800.
Manama Fofana finished right behind her at 9.725. Juniors
Skyelar Kerico and
Marissa Lassiter both tied at 9.700.
Isabel Song and
Sienna Zuccaro rounded out the field with a 9.600 and 9.575.
BARS – Penn 48.450
Kerico highlighted Penn's performance on the uneven bars, setting a new career-high with a score of 9.900. The mark is tied for the fifth-best in program history.
Zara Gazdak came in second place, tying her previous best mark of 9.850 which she set last season. Barrow was the third Quaker to score a 9.8 or better in the rotation with a 9.800.
Carly Oniki finished with a score of 9.700.
BEAM – Penn 47.675
Mimi Fletcher shined on the balance beam, scoring a 9.875. Barrow capped off an excellent night at 9.750.
FLOOR – Penn 48.600
Penn's last rotation of the evening was its best. Lassiter paced the group with a 9.825. Following her historic performance last week, Gazdak finished with a score of 9.750 tonight. Fofana trailed shortly behind at 9.700. Kerico and
Alyssa Rosen scored 9.675 and 9.650 respectively. On her senior night, captain
Emma Davies recored a score of 9.600.
Rotation Notes
*The Quakers tied for the best team score on the floor exercise at 48.600 with
Marissa Lassiter taking home first place (9.825).
*
Jordan Barrow finished in second place on the vault (9.800) in back-to-back weeks while
Manama Fofana tied for fifth place at 9.725.

Skyelar Kerico's 9.900 is tied for the third-best score in program history.
*With a score of 9.875 on the balance beam,
Mimi Fletcher recorded the fourth-highest event score in Penn gymnastics history and now has her second podium finish in as many meets.
*In addition to Lassiter's title, Gazdak tied for fifth place on the floor at 9.750.
*Kerico finished in second place in the all-around (38.675) and Lassiter finished in fourth (37.975).
