How It Happened
SJU opened the day with an RBI double down the right-field line and a sacrifice fly to head into the second with a 2-0 lead.

Noah Millikan had a better second inning after getting the Hawks to ground into a double play and a getting a fly out to finish off a 1-2-3 inning of work.

Penn recorded two base hits in the second inning after a double off the bat of Nick Spaventa and a single for Jarrett Pokrovsky, but consecutive strikeouts retired the side.

John Cerwinski relieved Millikan in the third inning with two outs, walking a batter and retiring the final batter on a fielder's choice to leave two runners on.

After the Quakers were set down 1-2-3 again in the third, Cerwinski struck out a pair of Hawks in the fourth.

The Red and Blue registered their first run of the game in the fourth inning on a bases-loaded walk to Gavin Collins, making it a 2-1 game.

SJU scored three runs on five hits in the sixth inning to take a 5-1 lead and added a sixth in the seventh on a double steal.

The Hawks registered three knocks in the ninth inning including a two-run homer to center field to take a commanding 8-1 lead.

Penn got two runs back in the bottom of the ninth when Carson Ozmer scored on a wild pitch and then Wyatt Henseler ripped an RBI single to left center to cut into Saint Joseph's 8-3 lead. Davis Baker flied out to right field on the first pitch to conclude the afternoon.
