WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The No. 14 University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team had little trouble with unranked William & Mary on Friday night, grabbing an 18-7 win over the Tribe at Martin Family Stadium.
This game was pushed up to Friday night due to a forecast for extremely inclement weather on Saturday in the area. The change did not seem to affect the Quakers in any way.
Penn remained undefeated at 5-0, while W&M fell to 3-5.

How It Happened
Playing against head coach
Karin Corbett's alma mater for just the second time in her 25-year tenure, Penn wasted little time establishing itself on Friday night, Miles scoring just 53 seconds into the contest and again 2:35 in. That set the Quakers off on a 6-0 game-opening run. Miles had her hat trick before the game was nine minutes old, and Chung had three points after assisting goals by Chai and Berkery just 33 seconds apart. The Quakers' lead was 7-1 after one.
Penn kept pouring it on in the second quarter and briefly got the game to a running clock with 10:22 left in the period when Block scored her second of the day off yet another Chung assist. William & Mary came back with three of the last four goals in the period, but the Quakers took a 12-4 lead into the halftime break.
The Tribe opened the second-half scoring, as well, before Brandt got on the board off a Chai feed midway through the period. That set the Quakers off on a six-goal run, three of the goals coming before the end of the third and three more coming in the fourth.
Brandt scored her second off a Miles feed, Block completed her hat trick, and Fleisher finished another Miles feed to score the Quakers' fourth-quarter goals. The Tribe finally scored again with 4:04 left in the fourth, ending a scoreless drought of more than 24 minutes, and set the final score with 1:09 left.
