PHILADELPHIA- The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team will head to the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships, beginning this Friday at the Arlen Specter Squash Center. The Red and Blue will seek its first national title since the 1999-2000 season. By securing the fourth seed, the Quakers earned a first round bye and will face the winner of Yale/Tufts in the quarterfinals.
Previewing Penn
Penn recently completed a 10-4 regular season, and a 3-3 record in Ivy play, for a fourth-place finish in the conference. The Red and Blue finished 9-1 at the Penn Squash Center, and had their best record since the 2016-17 season, where Penn went 13-2.
Freshman,
Sohaila Ismail garnered All-Ivy honors, going 8-4 and 3-3 in Ivy League play. Ismail competed in six matches at No. 1 and six matches at No. 2.
Junior
Grace Lavin finished a career-best 10-3, Freshman
Franka Vidovic concluded 9-4, with senior
Avni Anand and sophomore
Natasha Pensler adding seven wins each.
The Quakers concluded the regular season ranked fourth by the CSA, picked up six wins over top-10 opponents and picked up five 9-0 sweeps.

Previewing the Bulldogs
Yale finished the regular season 6-4 and 4-2 in the Ivy League. The Bulldogs picked up wins against Drexel, Williams, Dartmouth, Columbia, and Cornell. During the regular season Yale took down Penn 6-3.
Sneha Sivakumar earned was named All-Ivy for the second time in her career. competed as the No. 2 player on the women's side and has recorded an 8-2 record overall.
Previewing the Jumbos
Tufts ended the regular season 12-6 and 7-2 at home. The Jumbos earned wins over William Smith, Chatham, Connecticut College, Amherst, Colby, Bowdoin, Franklin & Marshall, Williams, Middlebury, and Bates throughout the regular season.
In the NESCAC tournament, Tufts beat Bates 6-3 and then Middlebury 8-1, but fell to Trinity 9-0.
Howe Cup Information
The Howe Cup serves as the premier event in women's collegiate squash, with the top eight teams competing for a national championship. Each team plays three matches regardless of results, with the completed matches serving to reseed each of the eight programs at the end of the year.

With a win on Friday, Penn would play the winner of #1 Trinity vs #8Cornell/#9 Columbia, in the semifinals on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The Championship match is set for Sunday, at 2:30 p.m.
