HOW IT HAPPENED
Palis and Appel started the game with a walk and a double, with back-to-back productive groundouts scoring Palis. With two out, Henseler singled in Appel.

In the second, walks to Justin Carboni, Ryan Taylor and Seth Werchan loaded the bases with one out. Appel took advantage of the RBI opportunity, plating two with a single, with Appel and Werchan each advancing an extra base on an attempted play at the plate.

Miller followed with a Palis-scoring single and a wild pitch plated Appel. Two more walks to Baker and Henseler reloaded the bases and the sixth walk of the inning, issued to Jarrett Pokrovsky, forced in Miller. With two out, an infield single by Werchan paired with a fielding error scored Baker and Henseler. In all, Penn scored seven runs in the inning on just three hits.

Penn's offense stayed white hot in the third, with Palis and Appel starting the inning with back-to-back singles. After a wild pitch and Miller hit-by-pitch loaded the bases, Baker unloaded them with a triple down the right field line. He later came in to score on a groundout by Henseler.

Dartmouth got on the board with a run in the fourth and another in the fifth. In the sixth, Werchan led off with a single, advanced to second on a groundout, and scored on an Appel single.

That score held until the top of the eighth. Pinch-hitter Calvin Brown led off with an infield single and Palis followed with a base hit of his own. Next up stepped Appel, who launched a towering fly ball into the netting beyond the outfield fence for his second round-tripper of the year.

Dartmouth pushed one across in the eighth for the final run of the game. Penn outscored the Big Green 36-13 during the series.
