Hosley Makes History, Earns Program Record-Tying Fifth Career Ivy Weekly Award

PHILADELPHIA – University of Pennsylvania running back Malachi Hosley has a program-record tying five career Ivy League weekly awards... and he's only a freshman!

For a program-record fourth time this season, he was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Following this honor and his Offensive Player of the Week nod last week, he's the first Quaker in program history to win any conference weekly award five times in one season, tying Justin Watson's weekly award record mark of five from 2015-17.

Hosley had another special performance in Penn's 25-23 overtime loss to No. 19 Harvard on Saturday afternoon, rushing 22 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns. He scored Penn's first TD of the afternoon—a 29-yard carry—and the team's final score of the day, a one-yard punch in to tie the game at 20-20 to force overtime.

It's his second straight 100 or more rushing yard game after totaling 261 yards on 21 carries and two TDs against Cornell last weekend.

In eight games, Hosley has 604 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the Quaker offense.

Penn closes out its 2023 slate Saturday at home vs. Princeton on Senior Day. The Quakers look to finish above .500 in Ivy play for the second straight year.
