Christoffersen and Korzeniowski Sweep Ivy League Weekly Awards

PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League announced its men's soccer weekly honors on Monday afternoon, with the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team sweeping the honors. Senior goalkeeper Nick Christoffersen was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, while junior Stas Korzeniowski garnered the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week title.

Christoffersen and Korzeniowski grabbed the honors after leading Penn to a two-win week. The Quakers blanked Lehigh 5-0 on Tuesday to close out non-conference play and topped Harvard 2-1 on Sunday to move to the top of the Ivy League standings.

Korzeniowski tallied five points last week, including three assists and one of the Red and Blue's goals against Harvard. The junior has scored in both of Penn's Ivy League victories, scoring the game-winner against Cornell back on Oct. 7 to go along with his goal against the Crimson. On the other side of the field, Christoffersen was a force in the net last week, tallying his sixth clean sheet of the season against Lehigh and saving five of the Crimson's shots on goal on Sunday.

Christoffersen, Korzeniowski, and the rest of the Quakers head to New York City on Saturday for the final road game of the regular season at 1 p.m. against Columbia.
