NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team finished in second place at the 2022 Ivy Classic on Sunday afternoon at John J. Lee Amphitheater.
The Quakers had a team score of 194.125 to finish behind Ivy Classic Champion Yale (195.050). Brown finished in third place at 192.200 and Cornell was fourth with a score of 191.625.
Sophomore
Kristen Kuhn was the Ivy Classic Co-Champion in the bars thanks to posting a career-high score of 9.900.
FLOOR | Penn 47.825
In the first rotation of the day,
Sara Kenefick led the Red and Blue with a score of 9.825. Kenefick posted a mark of 9.825 or higher on the floor for the fifth meet in a row.
Olivia VanHorn had a career-best mark of 9.775 and she was followed closely by
Isabel Song (9.750).
Marigold Garrett recorded a 9.600 and the fifth scorer for Penn was
Emma Davies with an 8.875.
VAULT | Penn 48.550
Four of the five scorers for the Quakers on the vault had marks of 9.700 or higher led by
Ariyana Agarwala with a 9.750. Both
Sydney Kraez and
Isabel Song posted marks of 9.725 while
Kiersten Belkoff had a score of 9.700. Both
Rose DeBarberie and
Connie Hsu came in with scores of 9.650.
BARS | Penn 49.00
The Quakers posted a season-best score on the bars to move into second place after three rotations.
Kristen Kuhn became the third Quaker this season to post a score of 9.900 on the uneven bars. It was a new career-high and the fourth-best mark in program history.
McCaleigh Marr had another strong showing for the Red and Blue, posting a score of 9.875. It was McCaleigh's third time this season scoring better than 9.800 in the event.
Sydney Kraez had a 9.825 while
Isabel Song (9.725) and
Sara Kenefick (9.675) rounded out the scorers for Penn.
BEAM | Penn 48.750
Penn closed out the 2022 Ivy Classic with solid performances on the beam.
Rose DeBarberie and
Campbell Marr led the way with scores of 9.800. DeBarberie tied her career best with the mark while it was a new career high for Campbell.
Kiersten Belkoff tied her career high on the beam with a score of 9.775 and
McCaleigh Marr had a 9.700.
Sara Kenefick rounded out the scorers for Penn with a 9.675.
