PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania sprint football team struggled to get going throughout the night, blanked by Army, 40-0, Friday night at Franklin Field.
The Quakers (1-2, 1-0 CSFL South) fall for the second consecutive game after winning their season opener earlier in the month at home.

*Penn gained 128 yards of total offense, despite throwing for 180 through the air. The Quakers were held to negative yardage (-52) in the running game.
*Army scored 31 of its 40 points in the first half, leading 31-0 at the break.

Andrew Paolini completed 13 passes for 180 yards and his first interception of the season. Freshman
Jack Annicelli made his collegiate debut, despite throwing an interception in the final play of the game.

Levi Gans carried the rock 15 times for 30 yards, while
Evan Fenster carried the ball once.

Brandon Graves led the way with three receptions for 73 yards, while Gans had a team-high five catches for 41 yards.
*Reigning CSFL Rookie of the Week
Charles Tauckus once again led the Penn defense with 10 total tackles (seven solo) with a sack for a loss of seven yards.
Travis Legum recorded a team-high two sacks for a loss of 13 yards with one for
Cam Janock.

Adrian Montemayor once again did it all – on defense and on special teams – with a forced fumble, as well as 10 punts for 345 yards with an average of 34.5.
*Black Knights quarterback Mikal Willeke completed 16 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns with two each for receivers Traye Carson and Donovan Mannion.
*The Quaker defense held Army to just 65 rushing yards in the contest. The Black Knights had accumulated 435 yards on the ground in the previous two games (255 vs. Cornell, 180 vs. Navy).
*The shutout loss is Penn's first since a 10-0 defeat to the Black Knights in the 2017 CSFL Championship Game.
How It Happened
Army's first points of the game came on a 27-yard field goal attempt, taking an early 3-0 lead with 4:00 to go in the first quarter.
With 51 seconds remaining in the stanza, Willeke completed his first of four touchdown passes to Mannion – a 12-yard grab – to put the Black Knights up 10-0.
Army scored 21 points in the second quarter, thanks to two passing touchdowns courtesy of Willeke and a one-yard run from Henry Beck with 6:26 to play in the half.
Penn's defense held the Black Knights to just nine points in the third quarter, shutting them out in the fourth as Army held on for the 40-0 victory.
