WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team won the 2022 Lindsey Ferris Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Charles E. Smith Center thanks to posting a team score of 194.925.
The Quakers registered the second-best overall team score in program history to edge out host George Washington (194.250). William & Mary finished in third and Cornell came in fourth place.
It was a big day for the Red and Blue as the team tied a program record with its event score of 48.775 on the vault. Penn also had a pair of student-athletes post the best score in an event on the day as
Kristen Kuhn had the highest mark in the uneven bars at 9.875 and
Natalie Yang's score of 9.875 on the balance beam was tops as well.

BEAM | Penn 48.950
The Quakers got off to a strong start with their best event score of the day.
Natalie Yang paced the Red and Blue in the event with her score of 9.875 as she was followed closely by
McCaleigh Marr (9.850) and
Sara Kenefick (9.825).
Campbell Marr (9.725) and
Kristen Kuhn (9.675) were the other scorers for Penn.
FLOOR | Penn 48.300
Sydney Kraez and
Emma Davies helped lead the way for Penn during the team's second rotation as both Quakers recorded scores of 9.675. The trio of Bella Garrett,
Isabel Song and
Sara Kenefick all registered marks of 9.650 to round out the scorers for the Red and Blue.
VAULT | Penn 48.775
All five scorers for Penn in the team's third rotation of the day all posted marks of 9.700 or higher.
Kiersten Belkoff had a team-high score of 9.850 which was tied for the second-best mark in the even in program history.
Sydney Kraez delivered another strong performance with a score of 9.775 while
Rose DeBarberie and
Isabel Song both contributed scores of 9.725.
Olivia VanHorn rounded out the scoring for Penn at 9.700.
BARS | Penn 48.900
The Quakers put the exclamation point on their team victory with a spirited effort in the final rotation of the day.
Kristen Kuhn had the best score for both the team and the invitational with an impressive 9.875.
Sara Kenefick capped her strong day with a score of 9.800.
Connie Hsu and
Sophia Restaino both had scores of 9.750 while
Isabel Song finished at 9.725.
