Familiar Face, New Role
With the cancellation of the 2020 season, Head Coach Jerry McConnell earned his fist win at the helm of the program September 25 at Mansfield. McConnell has spent the previous 12 seasons on the staff serving as the offensive coordinator. Over his 12 years as a member of the coaching staff, the Quakers have had 112 offensive players receive All-CSFL selections with 40 of those players receiving first-team honors. Over McConnell's 12 years, Penn led the CSFL in total offense four times (2009, '13, '17, '19).

Last Time Out
The Quakers are coming off a bye, entering the game well-rested. Last time out, Penn raced past Mansfield, 55-28. Junior QB Andrew Paolini passed for 270 yards and four touchdowns and senior RB Laquan McKever rushed for 152 yards and three scores to lead the Red and Blue past the Mounties. The Quakers accumulated more than 500 yards of total offense and forced three turnovers in the victory

Weekly Honors
Following The win against Mansfield, two members of the University of Pennsylvania sprint football team earned weekly awards from the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL). Andrew Paolini was named the CSFL Offensive Player of the Week and freshman LB Jake Inserra was tabbed as the CSFL Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Let It Rip
Paolini had a career day under center against the Mounties, passing for 270 yards and four TDs. He was 12-of-21 passing on the day and he connected on touchdown passes of 15, 34, 34 and 57 yards. He also rushed for six yards. The Cherry Hill, New Jersey, native set new career-bests in passing yards, completions, and touchdowns.

Wreaking Havoc
Inserra was all over the field for the Quakers the win over Mansfield two weeks ago. He had a career-high 16 tackles, highlighted by making 10 solo stops. He accounted for 0.5 TFLs. He currently leads the CSFL in tackles per game (13.5).

Deep Threat
Senior WR Brendan McCaffrey is putting up impressive through the team's first two games of the year. He has caught eight passes for 354 yards and four TDs. He leads the CSFL in receiving yards per game (177), touchdowns (4) and yards per catch (44.3).

Series History With Cornell
The Quakers and the Big Red are playing for the 101st time with Cornell holding a 57-43 advantage. Penn has had the edge of late winning the last seven contests between the two. Dating back to 2010, the Red and Blue have won nine of the last ten game against Cornell. The Big Red's last win at Franklin Field came in October of 2009.

Look Back on the 2019 Meeting
In Coach Bill Wagner's final game against Ivy League rival Cornell, the University of Pennsylvania sprint football team dominated the Big Red with a 61-7 win in Ithaca. Penn's 61 points are the most points scored since a 69-6 victory over Caldwell in 2017. The Quakers gained 502 total yards from scrimmage on offense. It is the highest total since Penn's season-opening victory over Mansfield in 2018. Nine of Penn's 13 drives resulted in a touchdown, including the Quakers' first seven drives.
