How It Happened
The teams were tied at every point up to 9-9 in Friday's first set at Leede Arena, but Dartmouth used a four-point run to turn a 9-8 deficit into a 12-9 lead. Penn recovered quickly, and the set was tied three more times at 13, 14 and 15. However, a three-point Big Green run put the hosts up 17-15, and another three-point streak extended the lead to 21-17 and forced a Penn timeout. Unfortunately it was not enough, Dartmouth continuing to stretch its margin to the final score at 25-20.

Dartmouth jumped all over the Quakers in the second set, scoring the first seven points and nine of the first 10. Penn got three of those points back, to 9-4, but Dartmouth came back with three of its own. The lead hit double digits at 16-6 and the Red and Blue only got within single digits one more time after that.

Ormiston was inserted into the lineup in the third set, and her kill gave Penn the first point in the third set. However, Dartmouth won the next three points and six of the next seven. The Quakers got within 8-7, but the Big Green reeled off six of the next seven points for a 15-9 lead. Penn got as close as three points on five separate occasions after that but no closer as Dartmouth completed the sweep.
