PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team (6-4, 2-2) bounced back from a loss against Princeton in a big way, stomping #13 Brown (4-5, 0-4) 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. The win was their first against a top-15 opponent at the Penn Squash Center this season.
Right from the start, the leaders of the young Quakers stepped up. Jess Davis and
Lindsay Stanley delivered early victories in very convincing fashion, creating positive momentum. From there, several Quakers stepped up and turned in season-best performances.
Haley Scott rejoined the starting-nine with tremendous success, rolling to a 3-0 victory. Meanwhile the sisters
Amina Abou El Enin and
Jamila Abou El Enin helped seal the win with Amina extending her collegiate start to 10-0 and Jamila turning in one of her best performances of the season, winning easily 3-0.
The Quakers dropped just three total games in the victory, defeating their highest ranked opponent at the Penn Squash Center. The Quakers also beat Brown by nine for the first time since the 2017-18 season.
