PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania's women's squash team (5-3, 1-1) returns to Ivy League play on Wednesday, January 29 with a battle against #2 Princeton at 7:30 p.m. The match is the start of a 10-day, four-match homestand against top Ivy League competition.
Previewing Penn
The Quaker women return to Ivy League play with an eye on securing a critical victory over the Tigers to aid its push for the Howe Cup. A win for the Red and Blue would mark its first victory over Princeton since the 2016-17 season.
The Quakers have played an exceptionally difficult schedule, with Princeton and Yale still to come and round out the run of top-five teams this season. Despite this, the Quakers have risen to the challenge, owning victories over the current #6 Drexel and #11 Dartmouth. In order to rise to the occasion, the Quakers will need to pick up the slack that
Reeham Salah provided during her career, who went 3-0 in the last three matches against the Tigers.
Perhaps one candidate is the undefeated
Amina Abou El Enin, who has met each challenge head on, including a recent bump up to the number eight spot in the lineup. Another important piece to the puzzle will be captain
Julia Buchholz, who played a terrific match against Trinity and has stepped up for the Quakers in big moments, most notably in the win at Drexel.

Previewing the Tigers
The Tigers are coming off a near upset of the #1 team in the country, falling 5-4 to Harvard in a thrilling match on January 12. Now at 6-1, the Tigers have maintained its spot as one of the top teams in women's squash as they look to attempt a deep Howe Cup run. Despite the lofty stature, the team is quite young with just two seniors, none of which hold the top three spots in the lineup. Junior Raneem El Torky leads the way for the Tigers, while sophomore Elle Ruggiero and freshman Caroline Spahr round out the top three.
