Sprint Football Dominates Caldwell to 38-14 Victory

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania sprint football team picked up a 38-14 win over Caldwell after a four-touchdown performance from brothers Ben and Jake Klaus.

Penn entered this must win game against Caldwell with a quick strike on the Quakers first drive. The Red and Blue pieced together a great drive, with Eddie Jenkins connecting with brothers Jake and Ben Klaus for 59 total yards before Jake Klaus punched it in from the 1-yard line.

The Quakers started driving again near the end of the first quarter. A 23-yard rush from Jenkins followed by an 8-yard pass to Ben Klaus set up Penn in the red zone. The Caldwell defense came up with a big stop, and Theo Papazekos kicked a field goal to extend Penn's lead to 10.

Penn then blew the game open in the second quarter. The Quakers forced Caldwell to a 3-and-out on the ensuing drive after Papazekos' field goal. Freshman Brendan McCaffrey fielded the Cougars' punt at Caldwell's 41-yard line and took it to the house.

The Quakers defense forced another three-and-out, and on their ensuing drive Jake Klaus took a 14-yard rush for his second touchdown of the game.

Yet another three-and-out forced by the Penn defensive unit gave the Quakers the ball on their own 40-yard line. Jake Klaus moved the ball into the Caldwell red zone before Jenkins tossed an 11-yard touchdown pass to take the Quakers into halftime with a 31-0 lead.

Caldwell came out with a strong drive after receiving the second half kickoff getting on the board after a 15-yard touchdown pass. A 10-yard rushing touchdown from Jake Klaus later in the quarter would all but put the game to bed.

The Klaus brothers combined for 209 yards of total offense and tallied four touchdowns to lead the Quakers to their third win of the season.

Penn now looks forward to the biggest game of the season as the Quakers welcome Navy to Franklin Field on Friday at 7 p.m. The winner of Friday's game will win the CSFL South Division title and will head to Canton, Ohio to play in the CSFL Championship Game.
