PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania men's and women's squash teams hit the court on Wednesday for the first time in 10 days as they host rival Ivy school, Princeton, on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at Ringe. The Quakers last competed 10 days ago in Connecticut when they fell to one of the nation's top squash programs, Trinity. It will be Penn's first Ivy competition since they had a weekend double-header with Yale and Brown two weeks ago.

Setting the Scene
The Quaker men are off to their best start since the 1985-86 season when they started 10-0 and finished 10-2. Penn has had emotional wins over Rochester and beat Yale at Ringe for the first time since 1995. After losing to Trinity 9-0 and missing four starters in the line-up, Penn has had 10 days to recover and get ready for its most important stretch of the season as it is solely Ivy opponents from here on out. That all begins Wednesday night as The Red and Blue play host to No. 6 Princeton.
Inside The Numbers
* The Quakers are off to their best start since 1985 with their 8-2 start. With a win on Wednesday, the men would match their win total from last season.
* Freshman Andrew Douglas leads the team with a 9-1 record. Prior to losing to Trinity in his last time out, Douglas won his first nine collegiate matches all at the team's number one slot.
* The match against Princeton marks the first of five straight Ivy League matches for the Quakers. It is all Ivy from here on out concluding with Columbia on February 11.
* Penn trails in the all-time series 14-82 and are 9-35 against the Tigers at home. The Red and Blue won last year's meeting 6-3 at Princeton and also won the last meeting at Ringe 8-1. In fact, the Quakers have won three of the last four against Princeton.

The Penn women are have had a rocky start to their season. Unable to play their full line-up all at the same time, the Quakers are 3-3 in their last six with their last match being a 7-2 loss to Trinity. The Red and Blue have had 10 days to recover and get ready for what will be a crucial point in their season as their next five opponents come from the Ivy League. The stretch begins and ends at Ringe starting Wednesday night at 7 p.m. against the top ranked Tigers and finishing February 11 against Columbia.
