PHILADELPHIA - Freshman third baseman Peter Matt was named Big 5 Player of the Week Monday after batting .400 (4-10) with two doubles this past weekend in the Quakers' three game series against North Florida.

Matt recorded at least one hit in each of the three games, including two singles in his collegiate debut as the designated hitter in a 6-0 loss to North Florida. In the series finale Sunday, the freshman lined a double to right to tie the game in the fifth inning to pick up his first career run batted in.

The Quakers continue their tour of the Sunshine State this week in Port St. Lucie, Fla., playing six games in six days against Valparaiso (Mar. 7-8), St. Bonaventure (Mar. 9) and Fairfield (Mar. 11-12).
