PREVIEWING PENN
*The Quakers return home to Franklin Field Friday after clinching the South Division title, and a berth into the inaugural CSFL championship game with a 28-23 comeback win at Navy. Penn out-gained the Midshipmen 283-159 on the night while the defense caused five turnovers to hold the opposition to just six points in the second half.
Marcus Jones hauled in two touchdown receptions - including the go-ahead score - to lead the offense and
Matteo Murgia registered eight tackles, a sack and a fumble recovey on the other side of the ball.
*
Jake Klaus rushed for 74 yards in the contest - his third-straight game of 70 yards or more - and a 15-yard touchdown, giving him four scores in his last two games. With the win, Penn will square off against North Division champion Army West Point in the league's first-ever title game, set for Nov. 10 at Shea Stadium, in a rematch of the Quakers' Sept. 30 loss to the Black Knights at Franklin Field.
*Penn aims to cap off a perfect 4-0 mark in division play with a win over visiting Mansfield Friday night. The Quakers are averaging 310.0 yards per game this season at home, led by five total touchdowns from Klaus and quarterback
Eddie Jenkins. The defensive unit has allowed just a tick over 200 yards per game, while forcing six turnovers in the process.
*The program's nine seniors:
Marcus Jones,
Zack DiGregorio,
Andrew Sutton,
Tom Tyrrell,
Matt Caltabiano, Tracey Woods, Jr.,
Quinn Karam,
Isaac Schuman and
Adam Yunus will be honored on the Penn sideline for Senior Night prior to their last game at Franklin Field for the Red & Blue. After sealing the South Division title a week ago, this group will aim to become the first back-to-back CSFL champions in Penn's storied history.
