PREVIEWING PENN
*The Quakers are coming off their first loss of the season to Army West Point, 24-14, in the CSFL's first big matchup of the season. Despite trailing 17-0 at the half, Penn stormed back with 14 points in the final five minutes and were in position to get within one score, but the Black Knight defense prevailed to hold on for the win on Franklin Field.
*The Quaker defense caused six turnovers on the night - including
Michael Doulong's 55-yard pick six, one of four interceptions on the night.
Matt Gorman was a force on the defensive front all night, recording 11 tackles, a sack, forced fumble and interception.
*
Eddie Jenkins continues to pace the CSFL in passing yards per game with 180 and is tied for the league-lead in passing touchdowns with five.
Aidan Kelly took over the top spot in receiving yards per game (79.0) after consecutive weeks of 100-plus yard performances. Gorman has emerged as one of the league's elite defenders, ranking first in both tackles (32) and tackles per game (10.7)
*Penn continues to rank in the top three in scoring offense (34.3) and defense (12.3) as well as total offense (347.0) and defense (234.0) through week three.
NEWS AND NOTES: CORNELL
*Cornell is coming off a 35-14 win at Mansfield in week three to improve to 2-0 on the season behind a five touchdown performance from quarterback, and CSFL Co-Offensive Player of the Week, Connor Ostrander. Ostrander was 26-of-36 passing for 286 yards - the highest single-game mark in the league this season - and three touchdowns while also adding two scores on the ground.
*Despite leading by seven at the half, Cornell posted 14 unanswered points in the second half to secure its second win of the season. The Big Red outgained Mansfield 412-151 in total offense due in large part to Ostrander's big day and the help of Will Griffen's 94 rushing yards on 14 carries.
*Cornell boasts the second-ranked scoring offense entering week four with 41.5 points per game, and currently ranks first in total offense with 393.5 yards per game.
