PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team enters the 2017-18 season on the heels of back-to-back Ivy League championships and a top-15 preseason ranking in the College Insider national mid-major poll. The Quakers are ranked No. 11 heading into the season, which begins Wednesday, Nov. 15 at Binghamton.
The Red and Blue earned 318 points via the committee's vote and they lead the Ivy League alongside Princeton as the only Ancient Eight teams to make the preseason top-25. The Tigers come in at No. 19 with 244 votes.
In addition to the College Insider ranking, Penn was chosen to finish first in the Ivy League Preseason Media Poll, garnering 12 first place votes and 129 points.
